LOSS

Detroit is well rested and seem to be a team of destiny this year. Justin Verlander is 8-3 at home with a 3.31 ERA. Compare that to Anthony Reyes' 2-5 road mark with a 5.29 ERA. There is no comparison. While St. Louis barely made it out of the last round and holds a 7-4 playoff mark, Detroit is 7-1 so far. They were 15-3 in interleague play this year winning those eighteen games by an average score of 6.2 to 3.9. St. Louis was 5-10 in cross-league play giving up 7 runs per game. As a road underdog of +125 to +175 this season, the Cards are 2-13! And they are 9-22 on the road vs. winning teams and 2-17 away from home vs. elite teams (outscoring opponents by 0.5+ runs per game). Folks, on paper this looks like a very easy Detroit win and I think that's exactly what happens tonight. Tigers in game one.
