The Angels fell into a bit of a slide, but now have won three in a row, and appear ready to make a statement and sweep the Tigers at home. The Angel offense has caught fire, and has produced over 7-runs per game (RPG) over the last week. Dustin Moseley will be summoned from the pen and make just his third start of the season. He has made three appearances against the Tigers, covering 3.1 innings, and has not allowed a run. He faces a Tiger team that has now dropped five of their last six. The Tiger pitching has been brutal, allowing 76 runs in their last 10 games. Bonderman has pitched well, but the run support he has gotten is amazing. He started 8-0, and the Tigers averaged 10 runs a game in those starts. Things have a way of evening out, and in his last six starts the Tigers have plated just 20 runs. Bonderman is a career 4.5 ERA pitcher with a .500 record, so his 10-2 mark this season is a product of being on the mound at the right time. He has had his worst games, against the stronger offensive teams. Anaheim, Seattle, NY Mets, and Philadelphia scored 30 runs against the Tigers in his starts, or 7.5-rpg. The Angels are a hot offensive team right now, and carry a 34-16 home mark into this one. The Angels have done well going for the home sweep, as they are 5-2. The Tigers have not been in position to be swept on the road all season, so this is unfamiliar territory for them. Angels get the sweep.
