The Cleveland Indians acquired Ubaldo Jimenez to be a difference maker in the race for the AL Central title. Jimenez is intriguing, but at the same time much over-valued. He had a huge streak to open last season where his numbers were off the charts, and looked to be the best pitcher in baseball. What has happened since those 14 starts is just plain ordinary. He closed out the 2010 season with an ERA of 4.34 in his last 120.1 innings of work for the Rockies. He has been even worse this season with an 8-10 record and a 4.70 ERA. Unfortunately for the Indians, he has found the American League even more difficult and in his six starts for Cleveland he is pitching to a 5.70 ERA. Perception meets reality in this one, and that has left a live dog here on the AL Central leading Tigers. The Tigers made a much less noticeable move picking up Doug Fister who has a 3.26 ERA on the season, and in his last three starts for the Tigers has an 0.83 ERA. Go with Detroit here.
