Detroit (2-1) is 6-0 ATS in week four of preseason and takes on a Buffalo team that is 0-6 in week four. Detroit will score as this Buffalo team is playing its fifth game, and the defense has allowed 17, 18, 19 and 27 points in four games (1-3). The Lions have as good a QB rotation as you can find in preseason with Matt Stafford, Kellen Moore and Dan Orlovsky. But can Detroit stop the Bills' new-look offense predicated on speed? The Lions defense looked through the dozens of players cut around the NFL this week, but found no clear upgrades available at defensive back, they’ve turned to the possibility of a trade. At cornerback, the Lions have depth problems with Cassius Vaughn, Chris Greenwood and fourth-round pick Nevin Lawson, who haven’t proven to be starter-level players in the preseason. Meanwhile, the Lions took a blow at safety depth when they put DeJon Gomes on injured reserve (neck) Monday. Behind starters Glover Quin and James Ihedigbo, the Lions have Don Carey, who’s dealing with a hamstring injury, as well as Isa Abdul-Quddus and undrafted rookie Jerome Couplin. Depth at cornerback and safety has been a problem for the Lions in recent years, and they don’t want to enter another season with that as a lingering question. And there is still no word when Lions rookie LB Kyle Van Noy will return to action. Back the Lions and take the OVER.
