2 units on Denver PICK () (risk 2 to return 2) RESULT: WIN
The Denver Broncos took a calculated risk on Peyton Manning in the offseason with hopes that after a year off and several surgeries, he'd be back at or near the same level he was before the injury. He has been worth the gamble to this point, exceeding expectations on all fronts. Manning has a passer rating of 108.6 through eight games. What is even better is that over the last five weeks, he has not been below 105 in a single game, having thrown three TD passes in each of the five games with only three INTs total. As a result, the Broncos have scored 30 or more points in four of their last five and no less than 21 in any game this season. Carolina allows 22.5 per game You have to like Denver's chances in this game as teams that score 21 or more points in an NFL game cover 71.8% of the time. Cam Newton has found things a bit tougher the second time around. The Carolina offense hasn't been as good this year and defenses seem to have figured out Cam. The Panthers have been held to 14 points or less in half their games already. The Broncos have covered seven of their last nine against losing teams. Take Denver here.
