(# 7) APACHE ROAD - $180,000 son of "Carson city" showed some promise in three races during his two-year-old season. Only poor performance was an appearance on Keeneland's Polytrack surface. Sent to the sidelines instead of going to Florida with the Graham Motion barn, he broke his maiden in impressive fashion on June 27. Tried winners in the slop on July 29 and finished second. Away five weeks, he is training well for this, his first try beyond six furlongs. Think he's up to the task.

(# 1) Kleber - He continues to show progress in his races. He has run well since mid-March, first for Tony Pecoraro now for Maria Pascual. Likes to stalk up close and the rail post should give him a good trip.

(# 9) Houndslake - Has no speed and is therefore at the mercy of the pace. Should be able to pass quite a few of these. Needs contested pace to show his best.

(# 5) Romeo Niner - Beaten by the second pick last out in a small field. Has some back races that would put him in this late. Similar style to the second pick, but a much poorer draw.
