Racing at this level going 5.5 furlongs he dueled from start-to-finish and was out-gamed by a 'nose' while 1.5 lengths clear of a next out winner. Trainer Phil D'Amato stretches him out a furlong and he has John Velazquez aboard.
2nd pick: #6 (Samdar) (3-1) - Debuting son of 'Uncle Mo' is working very fast for trainer Bob Baffert (26% first out). $240K purchase enters of a bullet 6 furlong work from the gate in 1:12.80 at Santa Anita Nov. 17. It's noted that Javier Castellano picks up the mount.
3rd pick: #8 (Praetorian) (4-1) - Colt by 'Tiznow' sold for $850,000 at a 2-year-old in training sale this past March at Ocala. He has a pair of 'Hall of Famers,' Rick Mandella and Mike Smith in his corner and this debuting youngster enters off a bullet 3 furlongs from the gate here Nov. 22.
4th pick: #9 (Camby) (15-1) - Longshot debuts off of some solid works and is well bred. Colt by 'Candy Ride' is from a capable barn (Mark Glatt) and Gary Stevens is aboard.
