Top pick: #12 (TEACHER TEACHER) (6-1) - Mare hasn't raced since late Nov. of 2011, but has been training both steadily and way above average on this surface for her comebacker. Nicely spotted and 6-year-old draws a perfect outside post at this distance.
2nd pick: #7 (Yawannagokid) (8-1) - Filly finished third in her first pair last winter at Santa Anita, one each on dirt and turf. Owner/trainer Cyndi Kelley has her working fast for her first since Feb. 24 and this 3-year-old is a win candidate if ready.
3rd pick: #6 (Hanserella) (7-2) - Veteran maiden comes into this off a second-place finish here at this level and distance on Aug. 7 and she has Bejarano aboard today, ad Brice Blanc opts for "Teacher."
4th pick: #10 (Bridle Plan) (15-1) - Grey filly has raced evenly in both appearances and trainer Matt Chew will add blinkers for this attempt. She only needs to improve slightly to contend.
5th pick: #1 (That's a Bingo) (8-1) - She was away slowly and raced evenly while finishing 3 1/2 back of "Hanserella" on Aug. 7. She runs second back off a 70-day break and had a bullet 3-furlong breeze on Aug. 28.
