Premium Pick

Top pick: #3 (OLYMPIC BLUE) (5-2) - The probable favorite, 3-year-old was a surprising entrant in this starter-allowance following a close up third-place finish here on "opening day" (July 17th) in a division of the $112K "Oceanside" stakes. Speed/stalker has gone 5-3-0-2 on the grass, is in top shape, and is the horse to beat.

2nd pick: #9 (Matto Mondo) (7-2) - Old-timer ships in from Lone Star Park with three wins in a row and 9-year-old has gone 23-11-2-2 on the grass in the past. Speed/stalker has been working fast here for trainer Dallas Keen and Bejarano is aboard. Chilean-bred has won on this course in the past and is a win candidate.

3rd pick: #1 (Husband's Folly) (6-1) - Longshot runs first off a Jack Carava claim and the veteran trainer is much better than his record over the past year. Strong finisher has the rail, and is a late threat at a big price.

4th pick: #8 (Casa de Cambio) (8-1) - Another longshot, he was an easy winner here when facing weaker on the main-track on July 21st after shipping here from Sun Ray Park and joining the barn of Pete Miller. Gelding has never raced on the grass, but is bred to like the surface and could grab a small share at a big odds.

5th pick: #2 (Late Night Sky) (12-1) - He showed nothing here going 11 furlongs here on July 25th in his first off a Keith Craigmyle claim. Gelding has worked fast since, gets blinkers on, and shortens up in distance. A small slice may be his ceiling.
