Top pick: #5 (BEHOLDER) (3-5) - The other trainers who entered here must have been taken by surprise when last year's 2-year-old filly champ "Beholder" showed up in this $100K contest. Working fast locally for her first since a near miss in the (G1) "Kentucky Oaks" on May 3rd, she also is the only speed entered. It would take something unforeseen for her to lose today.

2nd pick: #4 (Miss Empire) (6-1) - She's a stakes winner on both "poly" and conventional dirt and last out she finished second here on the grass in a minor stakes. Looks next best.

3rd pick: #2 (Becky Lou) (8-1) - Kentucky-bred spent the first part of her career in England and has won one of three starts this year since being repatriated. This will be her first ever on something other that the grass.

4th pick: #1 (Sweet Tess) (10-1) - Strong finisher showed nothing last out in a grass stakes at Santa Rosa in her first back from almost a 6 month vacation. Earlier this year she won the "California Oaks" at Golden Gate Fields racing on a synthetic surface. May grab a share with a late rally.
