DEL MAR Race #3
Thursday 11/13 01:30 PM Eastern
Top pick: #2 (KAT'S HURRICANE) (5-1) - Filly enters off a very troubled race at Santa Anita Oct. 30 that is best viewed as a toss. She had problems at the break and ran evenly while very wide. She was much sharper in her debut here in late August and is brought back in two weeks for this attempt.
2nd pick: #1 (Mama's Trashed) (10-1) - Speedy sort is working fast for her first since Sept. 28 and she draws the rail. Longshot faces a rather weak field for the level and has a shot at a big price.
3rd pick: #3 (Seek Safe Harbor) (8-1) - She's dropping a bit in class and switching from dirt to "poly" in her second start. Filly ran evenly while wide in her debut and she received some betting support that afternoon.
4th pick: #8 (Lady Dedlock) (12-1) - Filly tired badly when debuting on the Santa Anita dirt facing special weights on Oct. 19. This particular drop by trainer Pete Miller has won at a 41% rate (7 of 17) over the past 22 months and daughter of "Street Sense" may impact at a big price.
5th pick: #9 (Froggy Fresh) (10-1) - Another taking a big drop and she's moving from grass to "poly." Filly is from a sharp barn (Phil A'Amato) and he's won with four of nine previous runners taking this drop.
