Top pick: #3 (BIRD IN LOVE) (6-1) - Filly is lightly raced and will be going turf to "poly" this afternoon. She runs first off a Vann Belvoir claim (22%) and she's racing on something other that turf for the first time. Can take this at a square price.
2nd pick: #12 (Spirit of Ten) (8-1) - Lightly-raced filly has finished second in two of her three starts and did so last out on the Santa Anita dirt going 5-furlongs at this tag. It was her first in 7 1/2 months and stalker is a win candidate.
3rd pick: #13 (Take it Slowly) (6-1) - Daughter of "Latent Heat" raced evenly when debuting at Golden Gate Fields on Jan. 15th facing tougher. Drops, draws a nice post at this trip, and Tyler Baze is aboard.
4th pick: #9 (Full of Spice) (15-1) - Longshot has disappointed many times in the past but is working sharply for her first since mid-December. In a winning barn (Pete Miller) and a threat at a square price.
5th pick: #11 (Birthday Surprise) (12-1) - She's been racing evenly on the turf facing better and is dropping way down in class, going grass to "poly," and shortening up in distance. Home bred should show whatever talent she has in this spot.
