Top pick: #7 (TAP IT IN) (3-1) - He comes off a near miss racing for a $30K tag at Hollywood Park on July 7th in his first start since late April of 2012. Grey gelding by "Tapit" obviously his share of physical problems with only five races on his resume at age 6.5 years, but has worked six times for trainer Ron Ellis since July 18th. The top pick.
2nd pick: #4 (Candy Sweetheart) (9-2) - Gelding chased and held gamely to finish second here at this level Aug. 1 in his first race since Feb. 12 of 2012. He's worked fast since and it's nice to see trainer Vann Belvoir bring him back in 23 days for his second off the long layoff.
3rd pick: #11 (Sir Searsucker) (4-1) - He runs third back off an eight week freshening and will drop down to a new low and shorten up in distance. Gelding had a sharp work here a week ago and looks set for a competitive effort.
4th pick: #12 (Heza Great Friend) (6-1) - Gelding by "Exchange Rate" did well when debuting here at this tag going 6 furlongs on Aug. 11 when beaten only 3 1/2 lengths. Three-year-old had a tough outside post, had a very wide trip, and will go a bit farther today and do so with blinkers on.
5th pick: #10 (Grant) (8-1) - He had a bit of traffic issues when beaten 4 1/2 lengths here when facing slightly better at this trip Aug. 10. Price play is improving, draws a nice post, and is another racing with blinkers on.
