Top pick: #9 (RUN'N ON RESIDUALS) - Claimed out of his debut on June 28th by Pete Miller for 420K, gelding chased a fast pace and tired to finish fourth here July 25th racing for a 440K tag. Fine effort and he's brought back quickly and drops down to the purchase price. The horse to beat.
2nd pick: #7 (War Face) - Speedy sort set the pace and tired to finish third at Hollywood racing for $30K July 8th. Son of "War Front" has ben bet in his last pair and trainer Mike Pender drops him down to a new low.
3rd pick: #6 (Valen) - He finished an even third here at this tag July 22nd in his first race since early Sept. of last year. He probably needed the start and should be much fitter for this attempt.
4th pick: #5 (Buds Pal) - Gelding rallied to finish second in the same last race as "Valen" and it came off a a 7 1/2 month layoff. Can factor if it's repeatable.
