LOSS

Dallas is a road favorite, but has played two close games, topping Washington by four and losing at home to the Giants by a single point. They have a rookie QB in Dak Prescott who has thrown one TD in three games. It's a conservative, ball-control offense and the top two backs are averaging under four yards per carry in rookie Ezekiel Elliott (3.9) and Alfred Morris (3.6). Making matters worse for the offense is the injury to star WR Dez Bryant, a tibial plateau fracture in his right leg. If Bryant is out, Brice Butler will move into the starting lineup. A year ago, the Cowboys traded for Butler after Bryant had the broken foot, but he never got going. The Cowboys have offensive line injuries, too, with La'el Collins out with a toe injury and Tyron Smith ailing. Dallas is on a 5-11-1 ATS run, including 4-9 ATS against the NFC. The Dallas defense is below average with little pass rush, ranking #22 in yards allowed, #23 in pass yards allowing 290 per contest. They face a San Francisco offense that hurries-up under new coach Chip Kelly, and are #11 in the NFL with 116.7 yards rushing per game. The 49ers are home from a rough two-game trip and in the opener they topped the Rams as a home dog 28-0. San Francisco is 15-5 ATS in October games and matches up well. Play the 49ers.
