It isn't very often you get an opportunity like this. Jake Peavy was the most consistent pitcher in baseball last season and he has picked it up right where he left off. He is off to a 3-0 start with a 1.64 ERA. The domination has been scary. Peavy won 19 games last season and three already this season. In the 22 wins San Diego is 22-0 against the -1.5 runline! They have averaged winning those 22 games by 5.05 runs per game. The reality is that San Diego would even be 16-6 in his last 22 wins giving -3.5 runs a game! Francis had a big year last season for Colorado, but has pitched poorly so far. Even last season when he allowed five runs or more in a game only nine times, three of those nine were against San Diego. He faced the same result in '06 where he allowed five or more runs just eight times. The past two seasons have now shown Francis allowing five or more runs just 17 times, but amazingly five of those have been to the Padres. Great opportunity to play the runline here.
