LOSS

The roles of these teams have reversed from expectations back on opening day. The Phillies were supposed to be a World Series caliber team, but age, and injuries have reduced them to a team that has faltered to 10 games below .500. They also haven't even been able to win at home where they are 27-35. The Reds were considered a marginal playoffs contender, but have risen above expectations and are still improving, having now won 32 of their last 43 games. The bullpen has been the best in baseball, and they have their ace Johny Cueto on the mound. They have been 24-8 in his last 32 starts, which includes 21-6 if he is off a quality start in his previous outing. Cole Hamels has pitched well for Philly, but not against a winning team where they are 1-7 in his last eight starts against them. Play on Cincinnati.
