The Chicago White Sox maintain a two-game lead over the Tigers in the AL Central. The LA Angels have drifted pretty much out of playoffs contention as they have fallen five games back in the loss column for the second AL wildcard spot. That has to have this team with so much promise, demoralized, as they dropped two-of-three to Texas. When they have needed to win the most, they are 4-6 in their last 10. Ervin Santana hasn't helped the cause with his 8-12 mark and 5.08 ERA. Jake Peavy has been better than he has been since his glory days with the Padres. He enters tonight's game with an ERA of 3.26 on the season - well above average. The White Sox have won his last five starts vs. the AL West, where overall they have ruled the West Coast teams with a 19-7 mark in their last 26. The Angels’ 4-12 mark in Santana's last 16 starts vs. a team with a winning record does not bode well here. Play on the White Sox.
