Chicago scored plenty yesterday but that's not the norm as this offense has been awful, 26th in runs scored, 28th in on-base percentage, and 22nd in slugging. Starter Jake Peavy is 0-3 in his career against the Angels with a 6.08 ERA. Los Angeles plays its seventh straight home game, part of a nice nine-game home stand. The offense busted out yesterday as Albert Pujols, Mark Trumbo, Howie Kendrick, and Alberto Callaspo had two hits apiece and combined to drive in eight runs and score eight times. Starter Jason Vargas has given the Angels four quality starts in his last five outings. His most recent gem came Tuesday, when he surrendered two runs and five hits in seven innings of a 6-2 victory against the Kansas City Royals.
