Chicago at Washington

The last place Cubs are getting some respect with this betting line, though it's tough to see why.  Chicago has lost two of their last three games and is on a 3-6 run. This offense is awful, 24th in baseball in runs scored, 25th in on-base percentage, and 20th in batting average. The Cubs are 24-59 in their last 83 road games and 8-23 following a win.  The Cubs are also 3-9 against a lefty starter and face southpaw Gio Gonzalez, a great strikeout pitcher who is tough to hit. Washington is on a 4-1 run and eats up bad teams. With that deep pitching staff, they are 16-5 in their last 21 games vs. a team with a winning percentage below .400. The Nationals are 23-9 in Gonzalez's last 32 starts as a favorite, and the Cubs are 1-5 in the last six meetings in Washington. Play the Nationals.
