Chicago at Milwaukee

The Cubs are 17-29 on the road where they score 3.8 runs per game. They can't hit left-handed pithcers (3.6 per game!) and face one today. They have lost 18 of their alst 23 and yet, they are a road favorite? I'll take it! Milwaukee has won four straight and six of eight against the Cubs this season. This funky line is all about the starting pitching. Zambrano goes for the Cubs. But, he won't be getting much run support. In addition to the Cubs weak scoring numbers mentioned above, they have scored a total of 5 runs in their last four games. Poor offensive teams scoring under 4.3 runs/game after scoring 2 runs or less for four straight games are 23-66 (26%) over the past decade. Chicago is 1-9 this season after scoring two or fewer runs in three straight games this season. Milwaukee is the mirror-image 9-1 at home after scoring and allowing 3 or fewer runs this season. Sure Zambrano is great but the Brew Crew are 10-3 this season vs. starting pitchers with a WHIP of 1.250 to 1.350 (Zambrano's is 1.261). So, Milwaukee doesn't fold to good pitchers. Chicago's offense is horrible and in a tough situation here. Great value on home underdog in this one.
