Chicago at Carolina

Chicago is the weakest 4-1 team in the league as it has won its games by an average of 3.25 points while playing a below-average schedule. The Bears eked out victories against Detroit, the New York Giants, and Atlanta. They have a combined record of 1-13. Cairo Santos kicked a 38-yard field goal with 1:17 remaining to give the Bears a 20-19 win over Tampa Bay on Thursday night. Nick Foles completed 30 of 42 passes for 243 yards and a touchdown in his second start after replacing Mitchell Trubisky, but Chicago was outgained 339-243 overall. Carolina has won three in a row in Matt Ruhle's first year as coach following a 23-16 victory over Atlanta. The Panthers are #6 in the NFL in total yards gained and #5 in passing yards. Teddy Bridgewater threw for 313 yards and two touchdowns against the Falcons, and Juston Burris made a huge interception in the end zone. Carolina is doing it without star running back Christian McCaffrey as Mike Davis has filled in admirably. He finished with 89 yards on 16 carries on Sunday. The Bears are 5-12 ATS their last 17 games overall and 2-6 ATS their last eight road contests. Also, Chicago has gone OVER four of its last five road games while Carolina is 6-2 OVER its last eight versus NFC teams, and it is 14-6 OVER its last 20 after an ATS win.
