Charlotte at Washington

The Washington Wizards are stumbling and bumbling, losing four of five and have allowed over 100 points in eight straight contests. The Wizards have allowed an average of 109.6 points while dropping six of nine and have dropped to near the bottom of the league in defensive field-goal percentage (46.9). Washington has a losing home record and is 11-23-2 ATS against the NBA Southeast Division, plus 15-34-2 ATS after allowing 100 points or more in their previous game. The defensive breakdowns showed up again on Wednesday when the Wizards allowed the Spurs to shoot 53 percent in a 114-95 loss. That came two nights after allowing the Memphis Grizzlies to shoot 56.4 percent in a 112-95 setback. They face a Charlotte team that is back to playing the strong defense they displayed last season. The Hornets have held nine of their last 11 opponents under 100 points, beginning with a 101-87 triumph at home over Washington last month. Charlotte is on a nice run, off a 109-99 overtime triumph over Toronto on Thursday.
