These two teams have surely taken two different paths to make it to this Sweet 16 game. It has been said that Memphis did not play a tough schedule this regular season and up until this point, they have not faced any tough competition in the NCAA tournament. They netted expected wins over both #16 (Oral Roberts) and #9 (Bucknell) seeds. They now play Bradley who is a #13 seed on paper but they surely haven't looked like a 13 seed thus far in this tournament. They knocked off #4 seeded Kansas, a team many people had going to the elite eight or final four, as well as winning over 5th seeded Pittsburgh. Memphis is a very talented basketball team but they lack a major component of advancing far in this tournament; a true point guard. Darius Washington did contribute to the team by scoring over 13ppg, but averaged only 3.3 assists and 3.2 turnovers per game. Bradley will surely pressure Washington and look for his sub-par ball-handling skills to produce turnovers so they can push the ball and fast-break as often as possible. Bradley is a very deep team and they will work hard on both ends of the basketball (holding their opponents to under 40% shooting on the year) and use depth to their advantage. They have the ability to pull off an upset in this match-up as no one has seen if Memphis can handle the pressure of a close game. Look for it to be a close match up and take Bradly getting 6 for two stars.
