Boston at Oakland

The Boston Red Sox did a lot of buying and dealing late last season and into the offseason, and things looked to be paying dividends early as they jumped out to a 6-2 record, but have looked old since compiling a 9-15 record. Napoli and Ortiz, a pair of hitters in the middle of the lineup, have done very little, and the pitching has been highly suspect. Oakland has gone south over the last week as after last night's loss in extra frames the A's have now dropped six straight. One addition Boston made to the rotation was an investment in Justin Masterson, but he has really struggled and his lifetime log vs. the A's is even worse at 2-7 in 14 appearances with a 6.61 ERA against Oakland.
