Boston has salvaged a little pride in this lost season winning three in a row. But let's not forget this club has a terrible bullpen, bad defense in the field, and mostly awful starting pitching. It's a tough situational spot, Boston's sixth straight road contest, and they are 5-12 against a team with a winning record, plus 2-7 in Wade Miley's last nine starts. Miley continued an up-and-down campaign with a rough start at Chicago on Tuesday, when he was reached for five runs on 13 hits in 6+ innings. The Red Sox are 0-4 in his last four road starts. They face a first-place New York Mets squad home from a terrific road trip, stumbling these first two games, but talented and highly motivated. Mets starter, rookie Noah Syndergaard, has 126 strikeouts and 28 walks in 115+ innings and is 7-1 with a 1.82 ERA in nine home starts. The Mets are on an 8-3 run, with seven of those wins by 2 or more runs. In fact, 11 of their last 12 wins have been by more than two runs. Play the New York Mets on the runline.
