The Bruins got a big lift behind the net when Tim Thomas allowed just 5 goals in his first 7 games. Things have changed as over the last 12 Bruins games, the opponent has been held to 1 goal or less just once, and they have allowed 21 over the last eight. The Sabres can't stop anyone right now and over their last 10 games have allowed 35 goals or 3.5 per contest. The Sabres have maintained themselves however by averaging over 3 a contest over the last nine games. We get a low total here, when clearly the offenses are scoring and the defenses on both ends are at season lows. Just one of the last seven Bruins games has gone under when they have been posted as a dog, and none of the last six Sabres games have stayed under when they have been posted as a favorite. None of the last six meetings between these clubs has cashed an under either. I'll ride the OVER in this one. I also like the home team in this one. You have to ask yourself why the oddsmakers made this a pick 'em game. Boston is 20-11-0-5 while Buffalo is 15-18-0-4. They are begging you to take the Bruins here. I'm not biting. Yes, the Sabres have dropped four of their last six, but Boston has lost five of their last nine. In division games this season, Buffalo is holding opponents to 2.4 goals per game and Boston's offense has not fared well in division games (2.4 per game) and has been flat of late. I'm taking Buffalo at home as well as the OVER.
