Premium Pick
# 3 (LADY BYAR) - Veteran mare is a bit of a specialist at middle distances of 7 and 7.5 furlongs, as she's (10-6-1-2), at these two demanding trips. She comes here lightly raced this season, with only five starts on her resume, one of which was a very fine second-place finish two back against colts. Had a troubled start in last at Monmouth and still ran a fine third. Fits this starter handicap perfectly. The Pick.

# 4 (Roxanne's Dancer) - She was freshened up by trainer Gary Contessa after a very busy and successful winter campaign. Mid-pack runner also owns a good record at middle distances (10-4-0-5) and had a handy win at Aqueduct in a 7.5-furlong race before heading in for a rest. Mare also has 3 of her 6 lifetime victories on Belmont's dirt.

# 7 (Lunar Rendevous) - She was claimed from Contessa by Greg Prima for $35K, second off a layoff. Poor race was because an assistant starter was holding on to her when the gate was sprung. Very consistent reliable mare draws the best post, and has some tactical speed to use from it.
