(# 5) ELUSIVE MELODY - Wally Dollase-trained filly cost $450,000 as a yearling. Had been gingerly handled by a good trainer. Ran a good second on a real dirt surface at Churchill on June 20, then set the pace going long on the Spa. turf. That race should set her up well for the return to dirt. Several good works indicate that she ready to show her best.

(# 3) Stormy Winter - Nice race on the Spa. turf to finish second in first race since last November. Beaten by a decent filly in Chef Bobby Flay's Sophie"s Salad, she defeated a next out winner in Sabbatical. She's been away seven weeks since that race and goes back to the dirt.

(# 4) Come Fly Away - Has shown speed in all starts to date. Has never raced on conventional dirt, having run only on Polytrack and turf. Good work over this dirt surface on Sep. 10.

(#'s 2 and 7) Discerning and She Belongs to US - Would limit the use of this pair to small exacta boxes with the top selection - more on the bottom than on top.
