Premium Pick

Top pick: #3 (LUBASH) - Talented and lightly-raced colt tired facing "open" company in a small stakes here May 12 in his first back off a half-year's absence. Four-year-old by "Freud" probably needed the race and should set him up today for a winning effort as he moves back in with fellow New York breds. The top pick.

2nd pick: #1a (Uncle T Seven) - Hard-hitter was kept in training over the winter by trainer John Kimmel and was competitive in a pair of starts at Gulfstream facing "open" foes. Training fast for his first race since Feb. 12 and he's run well on this course in the past.

3rd pick: #4 (Banrock) - Before the year is out this veteran stakes performer should surpass the $1M mark in earnings. Long-winded type has been sparingly raced the past 18 months and hasn't won since 2009. He's in shape and was beaten just under three lengths in this stakes last May. The faster the pace, the better his chances.
