Premium Pick

Top pick: #10 (LEGEND) (2-1) - He heads a field of well-bred horses in this maiden contest and is one of three sired by "Tiznow." $250K yearling ships from Gulfstream where he's finished second in two straight at this level. Stalker draws a nice outside post, is working fine, and is the horse to beat.

2nd pick: #9 (Hallowed) (6-1) - Speedy & improving, he exits the same March 29 race as "Legend," and he tired after setting the pace to finish almost three back of that rival. Son of "Mineshaft" has a pair of sharp local works since shipping north and should be involved from gate-to-wire.

3rd pick: #8 (Heyaarat) (8-1) - Son of "Distorted Humor" cost $1,650,000 as a yearling and tired badly in his only start. He's worked fast since for a solid second out barn (Kiaran McLaughlin 23%), and Lasix is added (31%). Don't just dismiss.

4th pick: #4 (Financial Modeling) (4-1) - He rallied mildly to finish a distant third following a "slow" start when debuting at Gulfstream going seven-furlongs March 29. He took some betting action that day and has been working well since for trainer Chad brown (22% second time out).

5th pick: #2 (Mischieviously) (6-1) - Phipps home-bred has some late kick and is racing second off a 5 1/2 month layoff. Blinkers go on, and he may grab a share with a late rally.
