Premium Pick

Top pick: #1 (WHITE SANGRIA) (5-2) - Mare was in career best form this past winter at Gulfstream where she was an easy winner facing "open" company going five-furlongs on Feb. 9. Daughter of "Giant's Causeway" followed that up with a near miss when moved way up in class on March 21. Freshened up since, she has the rail, and stalker should get a fast and/or contested pace to rally into. The top pick in a good field.

2nd pick: #9 (Image of Noon) (6-1) - Grey filly has an excellent local record (7-2-3-0) and is 5-2-2-0 at this distance on the grass. Strong finisher has been razor sharp (2-1-1-0) in both starts at this meet after returning from a six month break in early June. A threat at a nice price.

3rd pick: #10 (Uncle Southern) (5-1) - Speed/stalker missed by a "nose" here at this level and distance on May 21. It was her first since Jan. 18, and she followed that up with a second place finish in an "off the turf" contest June 14. I like her post, and 4yo must be left in the mix.

4th pick: #2 (One Time Only) (4-1) - Many bettors who only wager on NYRA tracks aren't familiar with trainer Tom Proctor. He annually wins races wherever he goes, and he sends out this filly who has gone 7-2-2-1 on the grass. She fits on several angles and is a stretch threat in this spot.

5th pick: #6 (Desert Bliss) (10-1) - Veteran is not a strong win threat, but she could rally to get a minor award at a big price.
