Top pick: #7 (CAPTAIN GAUGHEN) (4-1) - Grey colt was a very impressive maiden winner here going a mile on May 24 in what was his first race since Dec. 8. The final time and the "figure" earned were career bests, and trainer Jim Ryerson has worked him three times since. I like this home-bred's chance.

nd pick: #10 (Sunbio) (20-1) - Longshot is the only maiden entered, but comes into this off a pair of sharp second place finishes at this meet and draws a nice outside post for this seven furlong stakes. Stalker is a threat at a big price.

rd pick: #8 (Belief System) (8-1) - Stakes winner has been freshened up since winning a $100K contest here on the dirt going 6.5 furlongs on May 5. Working well since, he's bred to like the turf, which he'll be racing on for the first time.

th pick: #4 (Orino) (20-1) - Recent maiden winner did so here on June 15 racing at this distance. Reports are that trainer Jim (007) Bond likes this home-bred by "Raffie's Majesty," and this colt is the only one entered with a win at this trip on the infield.

th pick: #6 (Sneaky Freud) (10-1) - Longshot from the Pletcher barn broke his maiden last out in a switched contest, but had some good grass form prior to that.
