Premium Pick

Top pick: #8 (JOE MOOCH) (5-2) - Gelding rallied from just off the pace to win at this tag on Aug. 29 at Saratoga. By far a career best, he was claimed that day by the "hot" barn of Gary Gullo and has been given six weeks of freshening. He's run well here in the past 4-1-1-1 and is the horse to beat.

2nd pick: #4 (Horatio) (2-1) - He was a bit sub par when facing tougher at Saratoga on Aug. 15 and has been freshened up since. Strong finisher has beaten better in the past and is dropping to a new low in price. Win candidate.

3rd pick: #7 (Star of New York) (9-2) - He tries hard every time but has a bit of "hang" in him at crunch time. Old timer is having a great year 10-2-3-3 and is capable at this level and he loves this distance 9-3-1-3. Must be left in the mix.

4th pick: #2 (Hurry Up Alan) (6-1) - Turf and "poly" specialist is dropping in class, moves from grass to dirt, and is shortening up in distance. Barn (Dave Jacobson) is having an outstanding meet and this veteran may factor at a big price.
