Top pick: #5 (DOCTOR CHIT) - Lightly-raced son of "War Front" was reported to be a runner last summer at saratoga and was bet down to favoritism in his debut July 27th. He raced wide and evenly in that grass sprint and did not run again until April 14th at Keeneland when he broke his maide by 8 1/2 lenghts, running the 6 furlongs in 1:09 flat. Sent to Woodbine a month later in his first facing winners, he dueld through fast fractions and drew clear to win the entry-level allowance by three lengths. Working fast at Saratoga for this, 3-year-old will be racing on real dirt for the first time. Very tough if he takes to it.

2nd pick: #7 (Saint of Saints) - He finished second here June 14th in an allowance-optional claimer, his first since tiring badly at Churchill on a sloppy track April 28th in the Derby Trial (G3). His latest was his best to date and he's a threat from just off the pace.

3rd pick: #1 (Sportswriter) - New York-bred goes turf to dirt and draws the rail. Stalker has Dominguez aboard for this attempt and this grey gelding can factor at a square price.
