Working fast since, McLaughlin (20% second time out) stretches him out to a mile. Colt gets a slight edge.
2nd pick: #2 (Biblical) (3-1) - Blinkers go on this $800,000 son of 'Tapit' who raced evenly following a slow start when debuting in a Saratoga sprint Sept. 2. Bred for this mile trip, colt is working fast for trainer Todd Pletcher (31% second time out) and 27% on the distance increase.
3rd pick: #3 (High North) (9-2) - Colt tired late to finish fourth after chasing a fast pace when debuting in a 6.5 furlong contest at Saratoga Aug. 26. Trainer Brad Cox has worked him four times since and Irad Ortiz Jr. is back on the re-ride. Cox is off to a fast start at this meet 7-3-2-0 and this son of 'Midnight Lute' must be left in the mix.
4th pick: #8 (First Warrior) (10-1) - The second of the McLaughlin trained pair, he raced evenly after being bumped at the break when debuting Aug. 19 at Saratoga. He was only 1.5 lengths in back of 'Avery Island' that afternoon and this $410,000 son of 'War Front' breezed a bullet half-mile here Sept. 12.
