The 3-year-old missed by less than a length on Aug. 17 at Saratoga when facing special weights and home bred is dropping into a claimer for the first time. "Johnny V's" presence suggests the barn likes this runners chances.
2nd pick: #5 (Inventor's Gate) (12-1) - The main speed, he tired at Saratoga on a sloppy track there on July 28th in a contest originally scheduled for the turf. He finished second here at this level and distance in his previous grass start and is a threat on the front end at long odds.
3rd pick: #3 (Dividend) (3-1) - Strong finisher moves up in class after rallying to miss by a "nose" at Saratoga on Aug. 18 for a $40K tag. It was his second off a Terranova claim, a career best, and he's a stretch threat in this spot.
4th pick: #6 (Are We Not Men) (4-1) - Gelding comes off a third-place finish at Saratoga in the same last race where today's rival "Dividend" was beaten a "nose." This 3-year-old had a pretty rough trip that day and was less than two lengths off of him at the finish. Must be left in the mix.
