Premium Pick

Top pick: #6 (CANEROS) - Takes another drop today ($35,000 down to $16K) and this son of "Distorted Humor" has good early speed and is spotted to win this afternoon by Hall of Fame trainer Bill Mott. The horse to beat.

2nd pick: #3 (Believe in You) - Improving gelding broke slowly last out and tired a bit after rushing up into the pace. Race was his firt in blinkers, his best to date, and $100K 2-year-old purchase moves off the rail this afternoon.

3rd pick: #5 (Takenotesfolks) - Nice debut saw this gelding show excellent early speed while racing between horses (a tough spot for a beginner) and weakend in the last furlong. Dominguez is back aboard and this 3-years-old's trainer (Linda Rice) is enjoying another strong meet.

4th pick: #2 (I Don't Care) - He had a very difficult post in his debut (11th of 12) and was hung very wide going into the turn and stayed on gamely to finish fourth in a race that had a "long gone winner." The quality small barn of Alan Goldberg is having a strong meet (12-5-1-1) and this gelding must be left in the mix.
