Top pick: #4 (BRANDINI) (9-5) - Jim Bond home-bred comes off a career best when she finished second here at this level and distance on Sept. 18 in her start since late May. Stalker can take this with a bit of improvement in her second off the almost four month break.
2nd pick: #6 (Fujiana) (2-1) - Speed/stalker exits the same Sept. 18 race as "Brandini" and she ran third that day, 3 1/2 back of that rival. 4-year-old had some trouble at the start and raced wide that afternoon. Race was her first since last Dec., John Velazquez stays put, and trainer Dave Donk adds blinkers.
3rd pick: #3 (La Java) (3-1) - Lightly-raced and well-bred, filly raced evenly in the same race as the top two picks in her second back from a 12 1/2 month layoff. She's worked fine since and it's of note that this daughter of "Medaglia d'Oro" has been bet in all three of her appearances.
