Lopez continues to be overrated despite the fact that he has given up 20 runs in his last roughly 15 innings. That is more than a run an inning if your keeping tabs as his ERA of late is much worse than his 8.07 that currently stands. In fact, Lopez has not won since April 19th and has lost 6 straight decisions. This comes at a time when the Orioles are struggling and are 3-13 of late on road games. The Mariners on the other hand are 5-1 overall in their last 6 games and Meche is 6-1 in his last seven games as a home favorite. In fact, whereas Lopez has given up at least 6 runs in his last three outings and at least 4 earned runs in each of his seven ball games this season, Meche's worst outing is of 4 runs and that has only occured twice this season. Meche is coming into his own this year as he has won three in a row and is finally getting the run support from his teammates that he deserves. Baltimore is 4-21 as an underdog this season.
