Baltimore at Los Angeles

The Angels won a ballgame! On Wednesday, LA finally won a much needed game against the Rangers on the road and return home to face the struggling Orioles today. Both teams are having a rough go of it but the good news for the Angels is that their bats came alive and they put up 8 runs against the Rangers on the way for a win. They send a young pitcher Gregg to the mound today who has been up and down. However, Gregg clearly has talent as he held the Tigers to one earned run in seven innings (3 hits) in what was his first start this year. In his last outing he gave up four earned runs in 6 innings in a loss against the Dodgers. I expect Gregg to pitch better as the Angels return home to put together a much needed run of wins to get back into division contention. They face the Orioles who are struggling just as much if not more and put Bruce Chen on the mound today. Chen is 0-5 this year with a 8.08 era as he continues to pitch just four and a half innings on average per game. It's a recurring theme that he is getting hit consistently and I expect the Angels to get some runs off him early and to pick up the win while giving young Gregg some run support. The Orioles are 0-6 in Chen's last six and 5-21 as an underdog this year while the Angels are 12-5 against teams with a losing record. One of these struggling teams has to turn it around to pick up the win today, and I'll side with the Angels as they have the pitching advantage, momentum and home field.
