The only thing the Tigers can celebrate is that they won't break the 1962 Mets record of 120 losses, although it will be close. Detroit lost again on Sunday, 8-2 to Baltimore, and now they face one of the few bright spots in the Orioles' season in John Means, who has not allowed more than two earned runs in any of his last five starts. The left-hander has a 10-10 record, which is quite good if you're playing for the Orioles, and his ERA is a respectable 3.47. Means has faced Detroit once this season and gave up a run on three hits in six innings. Tyler Alexander will make his sixth start for the Tigers, and he has a 5.40 ERA with a .294 opponent batting average.
