Atlanta at San Francisco

The Atlanta Braves got out of the gate at 12-1 this season, and looked to be a force that was on their way to an NL Championship and World Series appearance. Things have broken down since then for the Braves, as they have now gone 9-13 over their last 22 games. The quick start is a memory. The Giants have won eight of their last 11 and could surpass the Braves in winning percentage with a win here today. Paul Maholm was on the fast track early, just like the Braves, but he has settled down to be a lot more ordinary since.  Pitching success has driven the Giants where they are 39-13 in their last 52 after allowing two or less runs in their previous game.
