WIN

Atlanta has had no answer for the sick pitching of the Phillies. Roy Halladay kept the Braves to just six hits and two runs in the opening game of the series. Cliff Lee topped that a day later, allowing just one run. Will the Braves be able to find some offense vs. Cole Hamels? I highly doubt it. Hamels is 10-4 with a 2.40 ERA. In his last eight starts, he's posted a 1.60 ERA and 0.87 WHIP! No team has scored more than 2 runs against him during that stretch. As a home favorite in the -175 or higher range, the Phils are 42-12 over the past two seasons and I like them to make that 43-12 after today. I also like the UNDER. Hamels has been nearly unhittable and with the Braves averaging just 3.7 runs per game vs. LHP, I don't see Atlanta scoring much here. The Phillies win with defense, not offense. They are averaging just 4.1 runs per game and Derek Lowe is good enough to keep things reasonable for the Braves. Backing up Lowe is a very good bullpen (2.61 ERA). This season, Philly is 9-1 UNDER at home vs. teams at .540 to .620. Since last season, they are 28-15 UNDER vs. NL teams that allow under 3.9 runs per game. They are also 63-33 UNDER over that span as a favorite of -125 to -175 including 18-7 UNDER with Hamels on the mound. Take Philadelphia and the UNDER here.
