Top pick: #5 (CHIEF BEAR) - Races first off a claim by the leading barn here (Larry Rivelli) and he's winning at a 29% rate over the past 18 months with his fresh claims. Steady veteran gelding finished second at this price going a mile May 20th, and Rivelli brings him back at the purchase price and stretches him out a bit in distance. The top selection.

2nd pick: #3 (Cartouche) - Claimed in early Nov. by Mark Cristel for $10K, 6-year-old has been competitive in the majority of his starts since that time and they've all come facing tougher. Trainer drops him down to the purchase price this afternoon and that should make this gelding by "Officer" competitive in this spot.

3rd pick: #7 (Ninth Client) - Finished a distant third last out at this price going a mile, but the field was dominated by a 10-length winner and this 5-year-old's performance was solid under the circumstances. Has some back class and would benefit the most if the pace was fast.
