(# 6) TRUMAN'S GOLD - Certainly has had his chances, but his best races occur when he has been "fresh." Heartbreaking second, showing improved speed on Oct. 8. Held well setting a quick and pressured pace with a new pace top on Jan. 19. Regressed while battling gamely, disputing fast fractions at one mile off of a taxing return effort in prior start. Has trained steadily since, and his recent work when asked for more speed on April 4 is particularly noteworthy. Gets weight off switching to a live apprentice rider. I also like the fact that he has drawn outside of Hedge Fund, his main pace rival.

(# 4) HEDGE FUND - Showed a good turn of foot to dispute a hot pace and was well clear for the place. An obvious contender, his recent work on April 2 does not inspire confidence, as he might be feeling the effects of that career-best effort and shipping while returning to competition today.

The Plays: $10 to win and place on #6.
$6 exacta box on 6-4.
Total wager = $32.00.
