Top pick: #7 (JUSTIN PHILLIP) - Son of "First Samurai" is one of two entered here by trainer Steve Asmussen and they'll race as separate interests. Colt may have been best in the recent Bay Shore S (G3) as I thought jockey Ramon Dominguez gave him a poor ride. Draws a good post for this one-turn mile, and he's one for one on wet tracks. Stalker can win this at a square price.
2nd pick: #2 (Cal Nation) - He was said to be something special before making his debut and he proved to be just that when he won his debut going 7 furlongs at Gulfstream in early Feb. The time was outstanding and next out he lost by a nose facing winners at this trip, a race where had a troubled start. Obvious win threat in this spot.
3rd pick: #8 (Adios Charlie) - Gulfstream shipper takes a big step up after an easy and visually impressive maiden win there on March 30th. Son of "Indian Charlie" is working fast, obviously has ability, draws a great post, and must be left in the mix.
