Top pick: #5 (BOISTEROUS) - Phipps Stable home-bred is back to defend his title having won this stakes a year ago with a strong late run. He's gone (6-2-1-1) this season and tuned up for this by winning the Knickerbocker Hdcp. (G3) at Belmont on Oct. 13. 5-year-old son of "Distorted Humor" is (3-2-01) at this demending 11-furlong distance and is the horse to beat.

2nd pick: #3 (Bombaguia) - Sent in for a two month layoff this past spring, he's retutned a much better runner and has gone (6-2-2-0) since then. Speed/stalker was 4 lengths back of "Boisterous" last out after losing by a head in his previous outing in the Bowling Green Stakes (G2). Grey gelding should be involved from gate to wire.

3rd pick: #2 (Philly Ace) - Another speed/stalker, he's (10-5-2-1) on the grass and comes into this off a win at Philly Park going 8.5 furlongs facing fellow Pennsylvania-breds in a $100K stakes. More than capable against "open" company and it appears from his many narrow wins that he likes a good fight.
