Top pick: #8 (LILY THE PINK) - Daughter of the grass sire "Rahy" has run well in all three of her starts, the latest coming at Saratoga on August 14th, when she rallied to finish third following a wide trip. Working nicely for trainer Bill Mott and this home-bred looks set for her maiden win.
2nd pick: #4 (Passionate Gold) - She just missed last out at Belmont in her second start back following a 7 month layoff and trainer Todd Pletcher has worked her three times since tha Oct. 13 contest. Dominguez is back for the re-ride and this daughter of "Mr. Greeley" is a win candidate.
3rd pick: #1 (Striking Wonder) - Her mother is champion "Wonder Again" and her father is "Gone West" and breeding doesn't get much better than that. Her trainer (Jimmy Toner) who also trained "Wonder Again", has her primed to show whatever talent she has in this spot. Races second back of a 5 1/2 month break, has the inside post, and was 2 lengths back of "Passionate" last out.
4th pick: #5 (Splendid) - She has the best early speed in this field and finished a close-up fourth last out at Belmont at this level. Speed plays well on this course, and this filly is dangerous on the front-end.
