Winnipeg had a winning record last season, making the playoffs, and knocking off Edmonton. They brought the nucleus of the same team back and added defensemen Brenden Dillon and Nate Schmidt. The Jets are off to a 0-2 start, but don't read too much into that as this is a fine team. Winnipeg has won six of eight as an underdog, is 7-2 as a road dog, plus have won five in a row against winning teams. Minnesota made key changes to last year's team, buying out the contracts of Zach Parise and Ryan Suter while also getting younger.
